Fire pictures
Flames are visible as they burn the grass (I don't know who that guy is on the left!) Fire guys at work After the holocaust... DSV singed but still going strong. Dang! This stuff is tougher than I thought...
A big patch of DSV was burned on the DVP slope beside the big stone bridge in spring about 7 years ago. It happened before the DSV was growing yet, and the plant wasn't affected. DSV is from southern Ukraine where it probably evolved with natural prairie/savanna fires.
I am a member of the Don Council. I was a member of Task Force to Bring Back the Don. I often tour the Don on my bicycle and take photos of whatever interests me.
Have a question about the Don? Send me an email to: donwatcher(at)gmail.com or follow me on Facebook, look for Don Watcher.
